25th Floor Printer Setup

Connect to the 25th floor printer by IP address. This method bypasses the FollowMe badge-in system and prints directly.

Flags explained:

• -p "25thFloorPrinter" - Sets the printer name
• -E - Enables the printer and accepts jobs
• -v ipp://10.0.231.27/ipp/print - Uses IPP protocol to connect
• -m everywhere - Uses AirPrint/IPP Everywhere driver (auto-detects capabilities)
• -D "25th Floor Printer" - Human-readable description

Verify it worked:

lpstat -p 25thFloorPrinter

Expected output: printer 25thFloorPrinter is idle. enabled since...

macOS Setup (GUI Alternative)

1. Open System Settings → Printers & Scanners
2. Click + to add a printer
3. Select the IP tab
4. Enter:
   • Address: 10.0.231.27
   • Protocol: IPP (Internet Printing Protocol)
   • Name: 25th Floor Printer
5. Click Add

Troubleshooting

Issue	Solution
Printer not found	Verify you're on the office network (not guest WiFi)
Connection refused	Check if IP is reachable: ping 10.0.231.27
Print jobs stuck	Remove and re-add the printer
Socket protocol fails	Use IPP protocol instead (ipp:// not socket://)
